Crisis Response & Design Strategies 2

How do #WeHealasOne? By fighting crises as one Filipino community.

With the help of design recommendations and enhanced protocols, we can rebuild and empower our society in all spectrums. With informed planning and proper implementation, considering all stakeholders will alleviate the impact on our way of living, and the economy will recover faster.

NEAR SOLUTIONS – RECONFIGURE

  • Transitional solutions for existing conditions in preparation for future needs
  • Focus on the community’s well being
  • Implementation from 6 months up to 12 months
  • Semi-permanent use for 12 months or depending on the scale of crisis

As part of the NEAR SOLUTIONS, we can look at self-sustaining food and water supply in our communities, reconfiguring homes and public facilities to cater to the changing needs of the new normal.

An actual example is how St. John Bosco Parish in Tondo repurposed their soccer field for urban farming. According to @inquirerdotnet, “The goalposts and worn soccer balls are gone now, with the pandemic forcing students out of classrooms and into distance learning.

However, the soccer field has been transformed into a vegetable garden — and an important lifeline for the parish’s 17,000 households.”
