Villa Savoye 2

Once settled and the problems with the villa arose, the Savoyes communicated to Le Corbusier their complaints and expressed innumerable demands due to the faulty design and construction of their home. From leaks caused by the roof to the noise created by the skylight, it came into a tipping point when Mme. Savoye threatened legal action to resolve their woes.

The Savoyes lived there until 1940, as the Germans invaded France in World War II. Because of the cold and damp conditions inside the house, the couple believed that it made their son, Roger Savoye, ill and contributed to him developing pneumonia.
